Why you totally need to do portraits:
01. KIDS DON’T KEEP
Your babies just aren’t going to stay babies. It’s bittersweet. Take the time to have some portraits taken at each stage and milestone. You won’t regret having a lifetime of beautiful pictures, especially when they grow up and decide they are too cool to cuddle on the couch with you! (So rude!)
02. INSTANT MOOD BRIGHTENER!
I know from personal experience, having pictures of my kids and family up in my house makes me smile! I have one in particular of my son and daughter when they were 1 and 2 that showcases each of them so perfectly. (He was smiling, she was pouting!)
03. THEY MAKE WONDERFUL GIFTS
Does anyone know of a Grandma/Gigi/Mimi/Nana/Memaw/Granny/Nonna/Abuela that doesn’t love getting pictures? I made both sets of grandparents a simple calendar with pictures of the kids from throughout the year and gave them as Christmas presents and it was the hit of all of the gifts! Pictures just bring so much joy!
04. YOUR KIDS WILL THANK YOU SOME DAY
I have my mom and dad’s wedding album from 1978, old pictures of my Granny and Papa, and pictures from when I was little…they are some of my most treasured items. Yes, even the early 90’s family portrait in which I tucked a polo into jeans shorts. (Pre-braces, mind you.) Even those.
